Hama Munyikwa| Program Director, Somali Program
Hama brings extensive experience in governance and stabilization in a variety of contexts including Somalia, Zimbabwe, Madagascar, and Francophone West Africa. Hama has recently completed his PhD and has a strong academic background in politics and public administration coupled with eight years of field experience managing governance and stabilization projects. His skills in project management, monitoring and evaluation, and financial management along with his deep knowledge of the Somali context will make him a great addition to the team.
Hama first came to Somalia with EISA between 2014 to 2016 where he established a new and highly regarded program of work for EISA in Somalia. Since then he has worked for the United Nations as a Stabilisation Advisor on the CRESTA unit, and with the BUILD project to support civil society and the Somali media. Prior to his time in Somalia Hama worked with EISA from their base in Johannesburg covering electoral processes across Africa, among the many achievements of his career Hama was a recipient of the prestigious Marie Curie Fellowship in Sustainable Peace Building.
