Kyrre Berland

Research Assistant, Somali Program

Kyrre Berland is a Research Assistant for the Somali Program, primarily conducting research on the roles and election methods for the Somali Upper House. He is also a graduate student at The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University, where he studies conflict and governance in the Horn of Africa and the Middle East.

Prior to joining Conflict Dynamics, Kyrre was a trainee for the Norwegian Mission to the UN in Geneva, an immigration officer for the Norwegian government, and an intern in refugee protection in Tokyo, Japan. Kyrre completed his undergraduate at Sciences Po Paris where he focused on Euro-Asian politics and comparative law.
