Mai Tarig Amir
Program Director, Sudan Program
Mai Tarig Amir is a peacebuilding practitioner with over 10 years’ experience in governance and conflict management. She began working with Conflict Dynamics in 2012 as a Program Officer and is currently the Director of the Sudan Program. Mai’s work at Conflict Dynamics is grounded in a passionate belief in the potential of the political accommodation concept to resolve conflicts in Sudan.
Mai runs the work of Conflict Dynamics’ Sudan Program including conducting engagement activities and managing responsive thematic research to support Sudan peace processes, mediation, and negotiation initiatives.

Previously Mai was the Program Manager for the Forum of Federations Network in Sudan (2008-2011) focusing on decentralization and federal systems as an approach to conflict management. Before that, she coordinated the advocacy program of the Sudanese Environmental Conservation Society. She holds degrees in Agricultural Science, Environmental Management, and Development Planning.
