Torben Brylle

Board Member

Torben Brylle is an experienced diplomat and civil servant who has held numerous high-level positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark and in the European Union. Torben most recently served as Ambassador of Denmark to Norway, and prior to that held positions as Ambassador of Denmark to South Africa, Austria, a number of international organizations, and as European Union Special Representative for Sudan.

 

Torben joined the Board of Conflict Dynamics in 2020 and brings more than four decades of experience in the areas of conflict prevention and resolution, development, diplomacy, and international affairs. In addition to diplomatic postings in several countries, Torben has held positions with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Copenhagen including as Undersecretary for Multilateral Affairs, Head of Department (Middle East, Gulf, and North Africa), Director of Ministers’ Office, among others.

 

Torben first encountered Conflict Dynamics’ work in Darfur, during his tenure as EU Special Representative for Sudan.

 

Torben has studied Economics and African Affairs, and holds a post-graduate degree in Political Science.
